The Devil and his Advocate
The World rejoiced when the word spread like wildfire that 'The Devil' had finally been vanquished. Enemies breathed a sign of relief and began to make plans to move into the vacuum that was now left with all the ruthlessness that epitomized the competitiveness of the underworld. Little did they know that sometimes it better to deal with the Devil himself than his Advocate. Where the Devil was calculating deception; the Devil's Advocate was chaotic destruction. The World quickly learned that the only currency the Advocate wallowed in was red - the color of vengeance.
Follow up:
In the end it was true; the 'Devil' was dead. What was left was an innocent man who knew nothing of the darker underbelly of life. He was a good Catholic boy who shared groceries with his elderly neighbors; walked their pets; worked an honest job and tried to write the next great novel as he made his way in the world. The only thing wrong with that scenario was Trevor had never been a good Catholic boy; he had been ruthless, cunning, cold and predatory and he had passed that legacy on to his protégé - Erik, his Advocate -- the man who knowingly stood between the danger of underworld retribution and calmness a normal life.
The problem now was that World found out that the man who had been called the 'Devil' was still alive. Would the Devil's Advocate be enough to protect the innocent or would Erik finally use this chance to revive his Devil?
