Welcome to SL Subscriptions!

Thank you for visiting our site! If this is your first time here, you can view the first four chapters of any story in this archive for free by clicking on the titles to the right. If you enjoy those chapters and wish to read more, subscribing is only $8.95/month (USD) for unrestricted access to 10+ monthly chapter updates by our talented authors.

We realize that subscription sites sometimes get a bit stale when they have stories up forever thus we will rotate out many of our publications by publishing them in book format.  Each story to be published will be removed from the subscription site approximately six months before book publication; however, the gap between publication and the end of the story on subscription is often a year or more which leaves most subscribers plenty of time to read the story.  The schedule for this is listed at the shoppe.

We also have the SL Forum where update and company announcements are made which is open to the public. For other information, check the right sidebar and if you don’t find what you’re looking for, feel free to contact us.

Thank you for visiting our site! We certainly hope you choose to join us!

SL Staff

Chapter 4 (Dreams of Fire)

Severyn remembered with wistful nostalgia the days when traveling from one point to another meant throwing a few things in a satchel, gathering a handful of well-armed friends, and riding rough to his destination.  Now he stood at the edge of the inn's courtyard with Stefanie at his side, watching the caravan of wagons, carriages and riders line up for the procession back to the road.  Servants and guards made up most of the entourage while the inn's staff rushed about, full of pride and excitement to have hosted the king himself.

Chapter 2 (Dreams of Fire)

The rain was relentless.  It overwhelmed the gutters of the old house, pouring over the eaves in impressive waterfalls.  It sheeted down the windows, finding its way through places where the frames weren't quite flush or the sill was a bit uneven.  Four days of the deluge had left standing water in the courtyard and word coming in from the surrounding countryside told of flooding streams and fields.  Even Messerling, on the highest ground in the area, faced another delay in planting - the fourth such in the past month.
